Car spotted in lake prompts Orange County boat ramp closure

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s investigators are working to figure out how a car ended up in an Orange County lake.

Deputies and divers responded Friday morning to Little Lake Conway off Hoffner Avenue in Orlando.

They rushed into the water to see if anyone was inside the submerged vehicle but found it empty and found no victims nearby, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Channel 9 watched as a sheriff’s dive team pulled a small white Toyota from the lake at the Randolph Avenue boat ramp shortly after 9 a.m.

The ramp opened a short time later to boaters who were anxious to start their holiday fun.

An investigation into how the car ended up in Little Lake Conway is underway.
