ORLANDO, Fla. — A hotel next to Universal’s Epic Universe is one step closer to completion. Today, Universal Orlando gave Channel 9 a behind-the-scenes look at the Universal Stella Nova Resort.

From hundreds of thousands of multi-colored hand-placed tiles outside the building to images captured by NASA on the walls, Universal’s eye-catching Stella Nova Resort will soon welcome its first guests.
“You enter through a black hole into the hotel,” Dennis Quinn, the Senior VP of Hotel Commercial Strategy for Universal Orlando, said. “Our guest rooms feature space station-style windows, it just puts you in a different place.”

The hotel boasts 750 rooms, a resort-style pool, an arcade, a gym, and cosmic-themed food and drinks. If that isn’t enough to be excited about, its location to an up-and-coming brand-new theme park is a plus too.
“Guests will first of all be excited for the proximity the hotel offers to Universal Epic Universe and the transportation we provide to other parks and City Walk,” Quinn said.
Developers said the ideas behind the creation of this resort are mirrored with what you will see in parts of Epic Universe.

“We got to be fully immersed in the creative,” Russ Dagon, the Senior VP of Resort Development for Universal Creative, said. “Spinning off what we’re doing at Epic Universe. Celestial Park and this hotel have a lot in common. From the very beginning, it’s been hand in hand with the park team and hotel team working together.”
After years of hard work, leaders said they are excited for guests to step into a new world.
“It’s been seven years in the making, reviewing blueprints, reviewing drawings, coming up with themes and ideas of how we’re going to operate,” David Bartek, the Senior VP of Operations for Lowes Hotels at Universal Orlando, said. “And now the real special part is our team gets to breathe life into that hotel.”
Stella Nova’s official grand opening is Tuesday, January 21st.
