Regina Hill’s son provided evidence Hill forged documents in ‘gotcha’ moment

ORLANDO, Fla. — Newly released audio recordings show Regina Hill’s own adult son provided critical evidence toward claims Hill forged power of attorney documents she used to gain access to a 96-year-old’s money.

However, the son wasn’t aware he was implicating his own mother until it was too late.

The interview and recording took place in February 2023, more than a year before Hill’s arrest. Prosecutors showed the son a document that contained his and several other signatures that had been flagged.

The son was of particular interest because his name was spelled several different ways across different lines, something that was unlikely to have happened if he was the person signing.

“Does that look like your signature?” a detective asked. “Does that look like your hand printed name?”

The unsuspecting son answered in the negative.

“No, that’s not to be honest,” he said. “No, that’s not my signature.”

After another question, the son asked what was at the top of the document. The investigator identified the name as Regina Hill.

The son cut the interview off.

“I’m gonna stop answering questions right about now,” he said.

The son’s testimony backed up what others, including the notary, Sandra Lewis, told both investigators and WFTV after the case became public.

“As far as I’m concerned, you have my signature and my stamp, but you do not have my step that I use to authenticate documents,” Lewis said, making note of the numerous mistakes and discrepancies contained in the two-page form.

In interviews with investigators, the 96-year-old said she never gave Hill permission to access her assets, and said she willed all her money and possessions to her college.

Hill faces decades in prison if convicted of the fraud and exploitation charges. Her trial is currently scheduled for April.
