KISSIMMMEE, Fla. — Accused celebratory New Year’s shooter will spend a few more nights in jail, according to updates from Kissimmee Police Department, after a decision could not be made on what bond the suspect should have.

The police department said the suspect in connection with the fatal incident of “celebratory gunfire” was identified as 44-year-old Carlos Manuel Tejada.
Officers said they responded to a home on Gull Court around 12:02 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Police said the victim, 56-year-old Carmen Ochoa, appeared to have been struck by a bullet from “celebratory gunfire.”

Officers say 56-year-old Carmen Ochoa was sitting with her adult daughter on her porch when Tejada’s bullet hit her from across the lake.
Ochoa was taken to a hospital, where she died, according to a report.
The 44-year-old man is facing manslaughter charges and will attend his first appearance soon.

Police said that on Jan. 17, Tejada was arrested and is being manslaughter for Culpable Negligence in the death of Carmen Rosa Neira Ochoa.
