Investigators said law enforcement was called to the home on 20332 Wood Duck Road in Altoona around 1 p.m. after neighbors reported that the house was on fire.

Lake County Fire Rescue crews worked to put the fire out and pulled a man from the home.

No one else was injured.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 49-year-old Michael Allen Gall.

Deputies said Gall lived at the home that caught fire, and he had already died when first responders arrived at the scene.

Detectives will now conduct a death investigation into the incident.
