5 detained by ICE after 1-year-old boy found alone in the middle of Florida road

PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. — Three young children are in DCF protection after one of them was almost hit by a car.

Port Saint Lucie police say a 1-year-old boy was found walking by himself in the middle of a road on Friday.

Detectives said the boy was being taken care of by five undocumented migrants.

“Maybe he was disoriented or hungry or, you know, you never know what happened to that poor; that broke my heart,” said neighbor Isabel Goldberg.

The three children were taken to the hospital before being handed off to DCF.

All five adults are facing child neglect charges and are in jail without bond, on a hold for ICE.
