Take your last splash at Wet 'N Wild Orlando

We've all heard the news. Wet 'N Wild, the iconic Central Florida water park will be closing its doors at the end of this year. But don't fret, there's still time to stop by and make some memories. We traveled to Wet 'N Wild Orlando for one last splash on this edition of Central Florida's Hidden Gems.

Known as America’s first ‘true water park,’ Wet ‘N Wild has established a legacy that reaches much further than its International Drive location. The park opened in 1977 with the Surf Lagoon wave pool, Lazy River, and two additional rides. Today, Wet ‘N Wild has 13 different attractions ranging from thrilling and intense to kid friendly.

Our first stop was the Mach 5, a mat ride with 3 different flumes that wind and twist their way down into a pool below. The slide is perfect for all ages and as long as you can control the mat, you can take the plunge on this ride. Rumor has it, slide C is the fastest!

The great thing about Wet ‘N Wild is that it has something for just about anyone. The little ones can play at Blastaway Beach, the park’s water-playground, while the thrill-seekers can race their way down the Aqua Drag Racers, the park’s newest attraction.

Wet ‘N Wild is also known far and wide for their group rides and they have six different attractions you can go on with friends and family. I went on the Disco H20, a 4 person tube ride that takes you on a trip to a 70’s nightclub, complete with disco lights and music. And once you’re ready to slow things down a bit, stop on by the lazy river and take a relaxing float around the park.
