LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Brandon Murat had 14 points and six rebounds to lead Poinciana to a 66-42 win against Jacksonville Bishop Kenny in the Florida Class 5A boys basketball championship game Saturday.

Poinciana (27-5) led 15-6 after the first period and Bishop Kenny didn't get any closer than five points for the remainder of the game. The Eagles pushed the lead to 38-22 early in the third period and a layup by Taylor Gill at the buzzer increased the lead to 46-28 at the end of the third period.

Bishop Kenny (26-4) had no answers for Poinciana's ball movement under the basket as the Eagles shot 67 percent from the floor (16-for-24) with most of the points coming from close range in the paint.

Murat's final basket, an uncontested dunk, gave the Eagles a 61-37 lead with 2:54 remaining and both teams emptied their benches.
