DIS named Sports Facility of the Year

NEW YORK — Daytona International Speedway was named the Sports Facility of the Year at the Sports Business Journal's annual Sports Business Awards.

The speedway recently underwent a $400 million facelift called Daytona Rising, renovating the front grandstands and dramatically changing the experience for fans.

Former track President Joie Chitwood III accepted the award in New York Wednesday night.

Other nominees in the category included Avaya Stadium, Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Kyle Field and Petco Park.
