Brief warm spell with light showers before cold front arrives

ORLANDO, Fla. — We’re waking up to a few light showers across the area, but mostly dry and warm conditions are expected for much of Saturday.

Partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies will continue, with breezy southwesterly winds developing. It will be a warm day, with highs soaring into the upper 70s.

Showers return tonight as a strong, cold front approaches the area. The best chance for activity will be northwest of Orlando, with warm lows in the mid-60s.

Unsettled weather is expected for Sunday. Showers and storms will move through the area during the daytime. An isolated strong storm, with highs in the low 70s, is possible.

Much cooler air quickly arrives for the MLK holiday on Monday. There will be plenty of clouds, and highs will be in the low 50s.

Next week looks very active, with rain bands likely rolling across the region. It will also be windy and cool, with highs only in the 50s and 60s for much of next week.

A round of wintry weather is becoming likely in North Florida and the Panhandle by mid-next week.
