OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — It’s been a year since crews started construction to widen Neptune Road in Osceola County.

The busy alternate to US-192 stretches for nearly 4 miles.
As the county has grown, so has the congestion through Neptune Road.

Crews have lowered the speed limit from 50 to 40 miles per hour and are using different alert systems to let drivers know of lane shifts and detours.
And there’s more to this project than just additional lanes.

Bridge piles are going in for a bridge over the canal and the turnpike.
The project is broken up into two segments.

The northern part will be completed in the fall of next year, and the southern half will be completed by the summer of 2027.
