WINTER PARK, Fla. — First responders in Winter Park are spotlighting their work during a water rescue.

Winter Park police and rescue crews were called Wednesday morning after a pickup truck driver crashed into the eastern side of Lake Maitland.
The truck was discovered partially submerged near the Winter Park Racquet Club.
First responders had to work quickly because the 80-year-old driver was unable to get out of his truck.
Winter Park police thanked a good Samaritan for helping save the 80-year-old man’s life.

Detectives said Nate Camacho flagged down one of their officers while they were on patrol.
They said the 80-year-old man may have experienced a medical emergency before veering into the pond.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
