3 killed when car fleeing troopers crashes into tow trucks along I-95, highway patrol says

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — More information has been released on the deadly crash in Brevard County Friday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says a Mercedes-Benz C-Class was fleeing from state troopers northbound on Interstate 95 around 8:30 a.m. when it went onto the exit ramp at mile marker 201. It then struck two tow trucks that were parked.

The Mercedes’ driver was critically injured, while three passengers in that car died at the scene. Their names have not yet been released.

A worker who was attaching one of the tow trucks to the other was seriously injured. That person and the Mercedes’ driver were flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
