TODAY: Man accused of elderly woman’s murder expected back in court

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police have updated the charges for a man accused of breaking into an elderly woman’s home and attacking her.

Ronald Davis is now faces one count of murder while engaged in a home invasion robbery.

He is expected to go before a judge on the upgraded charge at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators said, last Friday, Davis posed as a community service officer to get into the home of Lucy Pat Curl.

That’s when police said he repeatedly hit the 85-year-old woman in the head.

Doctors put Curl in a medically-induced coma. Her family told Channel 9 that she was eventually taken off of life support.

A celebration of life is planned for Feb. 16 at First Baptist Orlando, where Curl was a longtime member.
