Today: City of Orlando could commit funding to SunRail expansion study

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando leaders on Monday will consider helping to fund a study on SunRail expansion.

The “Sunshine Corridor” would connect SunRail service to several locations, including Orlando International Airport, Orange County Convention Center, and Disney Springs.

The Florida Department of Transportation still has to complete a study on the impacts of the project.

That study is anticipated to cost $6 million and last two years.

Orlando City Council is expected to decide whether to commit $500,000 toward the study as a local funding partner.
