VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Early Saturday morning, a teen pedestrian was fatally struck on International Speedway Boulevard near Red John Drive, officials reported.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to the incident at about 12:52 a.m.
Officials say a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east in the outer lane when it hit an 18-year-old pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The driver and both passengers in the vehicle stayed at the scene and were not transported,” said Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
