SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers report that a Sumter County car crash has led to the death of one and severely injured two as the car went up in flames Friday night.

Troopers said one man suffered fatal injuries and two people were seriously injured, one being a 16-year-old girl.

Officials reported the 39-year-old man driving the Chevy later died from his injuries suffered during the crash. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old girl in the passenger of the Chevy was seriously injured.

Troopers stated the driver of the Nissan, a 32-year-old man, also was seriously injured.

Reports show that an unknown car did not yield and entered the intersection of County Road 475 and State Road 44.

In an attempt to avoid crashing into the unknown vehicle, the Nissan driver steered to the left. The authorities said that the cars then collided with the Chevy.

Officials are searching for anyone with information regarding the driver who caused the crash.
