Sen. Randy Fine wins special primary election in race to replace Rep. Michael Waltz

FLORIDA — The Associated Press has called the Florida 6th Congressional District Special Primary election with Senator Randy Fine as the Republican winner, according to our sister station Action News JAX.

Fine, who is endorsed by President Donald Trump, will now be on the ballot of the general election scheduled for Apr. 1.

Fine will face off against Democrat Josh Weil.

Former Representative Michael Waltz held the 6th Congressional District seat.

Waltz is now serving as President Trump’s national security adviser.

The 6th Congressional District extends south of Jacksonville and includes Daytona Beach.
