SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Seminole County charter school is expanding this school year to include high school students.
The Seminole Science Charter School is set to admit its first 10th-grade students as part of an expansion plan. School officials announced that the campus will introduce 11th grade next year and 12th grade the year after, establishing a complete high school program.
Despite the growth, school officials said students can expect the same classroom experience that has helped the school attract families across the area.
The expansion occurs amid increasing demand for enrollment. School officials report that enrollment for the next school year has more than doubled, with over 4,000 students still on the waiting list.
School leaders said they are focused on maintaining small classroom environments and providing consistent instruction as the school grows.
