Amber Alert issued for Marion County teen

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida AMBER Alert has been issued for Caden Speight, age 17, who was last seen Thursday afternoon in Dunnellon, Marion County.

Speight was last seen in the area of the 12800 block of SW Highway 484, wearing blue jeans and an unknown colored t-shirt, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Authorities believe he may be traveling in a light-colored van.

FDLE also said Speight may be in the company of four unknown males, possibly Hispanic.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 9 it received a call about a shooting around 4 p.m. Thursday in the 12800 block of SW Highway 484.

MCSO said when deputies arrived, they found a vehicle but no victims.

A short time later, Speight was reported missing from the same area where the shooting was reported. Investigators said they believe the two incidents are related.

If spotted, authorities have urged the public to not approach Speight or the vehicle of interest. Tipsters should immediately contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 352-732-9111 or call 911.
