Saturday forecast: Hot, muggy with chance of afternoon storms

ORLANDO, Fla. — Today looks to be hot and muggy with daytime highs reaching the low 90s and a heat index of 100 to 105 degrees.

In the afternoon there is a 60% chance of isolated storms possible from the west.

The rest of the weekend looks to be more of the same with the chance for rain at about 60%.

Sunday will be partly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.

Today is the statistical peak of the hurricane season.

Hurricane Earl continues to spin in the North Central Atlantic. and we’ll be watching the next wave coming off the coast of Africa this week.

Forecasts show a 30% chance of development in next week.
