ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — While performing a routine traffic stop, officers say the driver quickly sped away, fleeing the scene that led them on a chase.

After setting up a perimeter, police located the abandoned car of the suspect, along with a gun and shoes that were lost during the pursuit.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies advised officers of a possible suspect running and hopping fences in multiple backyards.

After a short chase and assistance from OCSO, officers took Shani Love, 37, into custody.
Officers later discovered that Love was a convicted felon who dropped a gun reported stolen in Polk County during the chase.

Love was charged with six accounts, including hit-and-run as well as possession of a firearm.
