ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell was sworn into office Tuesday morning.

She replaces Andrew Bain, who was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis after he suspended Worrell in 2023.
Sources have confirmed with Channel 9 that a grand jury is currently investigating Worrell’s first administration.
We also learned that members of her previous administration could be involved in the investigation.
But as of now, it is not clear exactly what that grand jury is looking into.

As Worrell makes her way back to her old office, multiple assistant state attorneys are expected to be sworn in as well.
And for the former prosecutor, the political climate in the office will be quite a burden.

Polk County’s chief judge said the grand jury’s decision likely won’t come until February because a hearing has been scheduled around that time.
