Police investigate man’s death inside home in Melbourne neighborhood

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Melbourne Police Department responded to multiple bomb threats toward schools Friday, Dec. 13.

MPD received information claiming there were explosive devices placed throughout several area campuses, according to a release.

The schools affected by the threats were:

  • Eau Gallie High School
  • Melbourne Central Catholic

  • Melbourne High School
  • Parkhurst Academy

MPD worked alongside Brevard Public Schools and their District Security to address the threats according to the release.

All campuses were searched and there were no devices located on any of the campuses.

Each school took measures to ensure the safety of the students and staff during the incidents.

Once each campus was cleared by law enforcement personnel, the campuses resumed normal activities.

The investigation as to who made the threats is ongoing.
