Park Avenue refresh: Winter Park plans million-dollar facelift

Winter Park is targeting a refresh of Park Avenue’s sidewalks, signage, lighting and more.

The city showed off an initial look Jan. 23 with Alex Stringfellow of Stringfellow Planning & Design at a conceptual vision for the city’s key corridor in its central business district. The work would stretch along Park Avenue from Fairbanks to Wipple avenues.

Winter Park spokeswoman Clarissa Howard during the meeting said the work will “allow the city to polish its crown jewel. It is not a renovation, but it has been almost 30 years since the last renovation, which was from 1996 to 1999.”
