New downtown Orlando venue aims to revitalize former Stonewall Bar

ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

If all goes according to plan, a new business called Heatwave will soon take the place of Stonewall Bar Orlando, the LGBTQIA+ bar that closed Dec. 31, 2021.

The three-part venue aims to include a daytime café, full-service restaurant and a lounge for viewing entertainment – all at 741 W. Church St. The café and restaurant are dubbed the Green Room and Terrace in documents submitted to the city, and the lounge is called Views.

Documents submitted to the city describe Views as a dinner theater-style space, where small plates and craft cocktails will be served during evening shows.
