How changes to Magnolia Avenue may create the next Park Avenue

Right now, Magnolia Avenue is a quiet downtown corridor many days of the week.

On the north side leading to the Orange County Courthouse, Lynx’s free Lymmo buses run along the road, picking up passengers. Closer to the Orange County Regional History Center, people cross Central Boulevard, often headed to the busier Orange and Rosalind avenues.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer described in his State of the Downtown Address that the Magnolia Avenue area has “become a pass-through area with no identity and no soul.” While several storefronts sit active with retail and restaurants, others remain empty.
