ORANGE CITY, Fla. — Orange City has announced the passing of Vice Mayor Alexander Tiamson.

The city said he died on Sunday.
Tiamson was first elected to serve on Orange City Council in 2020 and was reelected four years later.

His fellow council members elected him to serve as Vice Mayor in January of 2024.
Starting at age 19, Tiamson served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
He then had a 29-year career in law enforcement.

The city said Tiamson played a pivotal role in championing several projects and initiatives.
