ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County’s new supervisor of elections is set to take office on Tuesday.

Karen Castor Dentel will take over for Glen Gilzean.
Gilzean is accused of overspending the office’s bank account by more than a million dollars.

Orange County commissioners are expected to restore funding to the office on Tuesday.
The county originally stopped funding the elections office because they said Gilzean was overspending.

County leaders were unwilling to give Gilzean the funding to fix his accounts, except for payments made directly to the election office’s payroll company.
In turn, Gilzean filed a lawsuit against Orange County commissioners, but it was dismissed voluntarily on Monday.
