Leesburg leaders to consider approval of more ‘mixed use’ development downtown

LEESBURG, Fla. — Leesburg leaders on Monday are set to discuss rezoning a big portion of their downtown area.

City leaders could vote to make the highlighted area below “mixed use,” which would encourage a combination of businesses and residences.

The area allows for higher density than in other parts of the city.

The goal is to create a bigger “walkable” downtown.

The area around Main Street is already zoned as such.

Monday’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at Leesburg City Hall on West Meadow Street.
