The U.S. Department of Justice sued AWH Orlando Property LLC, operating as DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at SeaWorld, for alleged discrimination against Arab groups, citing the cancellation of the Arab American Foundation’s event. A Feb. 5 consent decree requires new training, though the hotel denies the allegations.

The lawsuit filed Jan. 16 claimed the hotel violated Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by discriminating on the basis of national origin.

The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, with District Judge Wendy Berger and Magistrate Judge David Baker presiding.
