Woman dies after fight leads to shooting at Merritt Island apartment complex, deputies say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Brevard County are investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment complex.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday at the Tropical Manor Apartments off Jordan Road.

Deputies said they responded to the apartment complex after reports of a “large disturbance.”

The original fight broke up, but another altercation started soon after.

The victim was shot during the second argument, deputies said.

Merritt Island shooting investigation Deputies said someone shot a person at an apartment complex early Friday.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died, officials said.

Deputies said they were not sure if the woman was the intended target or an innocent bystander.

Officials said no one had been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
