Kissimmee police said the horrifying act of domestic violence unfolded at the Baymont Motel in Kissimmee on Sunday. Police responded to room 235 after reports of a violent altercation involving 31-year-old Terell Rodgers and a female friend.
According to the arrest affidavit, Rodgers used a friend’s motel room to shower and grab food with the female. The affidavit states the pair had been arguing throughout the day, and Rodgers told detectives tensions reached a breaking point inside the room.

According to reports, Rodgers told detectives he and the woman had used methamphetamine earlier in the day, which he admitted might have fueled his explosive rage. He confessed to brutally attacking the woman with a baseball bat he found in the room behind a door, striking her repeatedly in the head and body until she was unable to move.
The affidavit states two others were in the room at the time of the attack, including the room’s occupant, who was also struck by Rodgers.
One witness told investigators that Rodgers became enraged over a disagreement about a question about food and began hitting the woman uncontrollably.

The affidavit stated they recounted being cornered in the bathroom as Rodgers continued his vicious assault, striking the woman even as she lay on the floor, barely able to crawl.
The room owner told detectives that when they were able to escape, he noticed Rodgers started a small fire on his bed, and he was able to knock it out before it spread.
When police arrived, Rodgers was reportedly distraught and yelling, “I think I killed her.” During questioning, he admitted to the attack and chillingly described the rage he felt. “Using the bat was the only way to get her attention,” he told officers. “Today was a different anger,” Rodgers explained that he only stopped hitting the woman when he realized she was no longer moving.
Kissimmee Police confirmed that the woman suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local Hospital for multiple skull fractures and significant swelling and bleeding of the brain.
