ORLANDO, Fla. — The holiday travel surge continues to remain active at the Orlando International Airport.

It was another hectic day on Thursday as crowds gathered at check-in lines and security checkpoints.
Airport leaders said Thursday will be the 5th busiest day of the entire holiday travel season.

More than 182,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport on Thursday, a testament to Orlando’s enduring popularity as a tourist destination.
Channel 9 has seen long lines at security checkpoints, with wait times as long as 45 minutes at one point.

Airport officials anticipated a record-breaking holiday season, with an estimated 2.9 million travelers passing through.
While the holiday season officially ends on Sunday, airport officials are urging travelers to remain patient and allow extra time for travel.
