ORLANDO, Fla. — Temperatures are set to plunge to some of the coldest levels of the winter season overnight, with widespread frost and freeze conditions expected across Marion County.

Surrounding rural areas are also likely to see frost by morning.

Residents are urged to bring pets indoors and cover plants in areas under a freeze warning to prevent damage.
The cold snap comes ahead of the next storm system, which is expected to bring rain as the weekend begins.
Another cold front will follow, keeping temperatures chilly into next week.
