TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — We’re waiting for more details from the governor on a state budget for the 2025 to 2026 fiscal year.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said his proposed budget would focus on reducing state debt, hiking trooper pay, and cutting taxes.
That could include increasing exemptions for homestead property tax to counter rising mortgage and insurance costs.

The legislative session starts on March 4.
DeSantis plans to hold a news conference in Tallahassee at 11 a.m. on Monday.
