Florida deputies find nearly 200 plants, 100 pounds of marijuana in illegal grow house

HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Florida said they have made a major drug bust.

The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office said it has dismantled a large-scale marijuana grow-house operation.

They said the bust came after working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Deputies said 194 plants and 100 pounds of marijuana shake were confiscated during the operation.

The estimated value of the seized plants is around $194,000.

“This investigation highlights our commitment to have a zero tolerance on illegal drug activities in our community and holding those responsible accountable for their actions,” said Sheriff Vent Crawford. “Additionally, the theft of utilities places an undue burden on local residents and businesses.”

Investigators said evidence found at the scene revealed that the operation was elaborate and involved sophisticated growing techniques and extensive equipment.
