SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — A man died after a truck and a car struck him on a Sumter County roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers responded to the crash early Sunday along County Road 475 near Oxford.
FHP said shortly before 6 a.m., a GMC pickup truck and an Acura sedan were both traveling northbound on CR-475, when a man walking along the shoulder of tried to cross the road north of County Road 466.
Investigators said the pedestrian entered into the direct path of the oncoming truck and it struck him.
The car, traveling directly behind the pickup, also collided with the pedestrian, according to troopers.
FHP said the pedestrian, a 62-year-old Ocala resident, died at the crash scene.
Both drivers stopped following impact and neither was hurt, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
