VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — State troopers are investigating deadly crash near DeLand.
7:30 a.m. update:
FHP said an unknown sedan was traveling eastbound on I-4, approaching the overpass for SR-44 on the exit ramp for 118-B, when the driver veered off the roadway.
The car entered the grassy shoulder and struck an electrical panel, investigators said.
The car continued along the shoulder and collided with the corner of the overpass bridge support, troopers determined.
The car became engulfed in fire and the driver, who has not been identified, died at the crash scene, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
The exit ramp has since reopened to traffic.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday at on the exit ramp from Interstate-4 eastbound to State Road 44.
A Florida Department of Transportation camera captured what appeared to be a vehicle in flames on the ramp near an overpass.
On its official website, Florida Highway Patrol reported the crash involved at least one fatality.

A Channel 9 crew near the wreckage saw roadblock on the ramp to westbound SR-44 from eastbound I-4.
That impacts traffic heading toward DeLand.
Exit ramp lanes to eastbound SR-44, toward New Smyrna Beach, are open.
As of 5 a.m., both State Road 44 and Interstate 4 were open to traffic in both directions.
