FHP: Fatal crash on US-1 kills a motorcyclist

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Brevard County on US-1 involving a car and motorcycle Thursday evening.

Troopers arrived on the scene of the crash that caused a roadblock on US-1 south of Harbor Oak Lane in Titusville at approximately 6:31 p.m.

According to FHP a 2019 RAM 1500 was stopped, facing west at the stop sign of US-1 and the Manatee Hammock Campground.

A 2009 Honda VT750 motorcycle with two occupants were traveling northbound on US-1 south of Harbor Oak Lane in the outside lane.

The RAM went to make a left turn onto US-1 and entered the direct path of the Honda and struck it.

The 66-year-old male driver of the RAM was not injured and reminded on the scene, according to FHP.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were transported to the hospital; the rider, a male, was pronounced dead, and the passenger, a female, suffered serious injuries but is in stable condition.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
