TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Snowy, icy conditions continued to cause travel headaches for motorists in north Florida early Wednesday.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported several road closures along Interstate 10 in Florida’s Panhandle.
On its website, FHP noted the closures along stretches of I-10 in Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties, as well as slick conditions in Madison County.

Tallahassee Police also chimed in overnight on social media about the worsening conditions, urging drivers to “stay off the roads.”

As of 5:30 a.m., many roads were slippery, still covered with snow and ice.
It seemed residents were mostly heeding the advice of police, as we found very little activity on local streets.
