Dollar General plans new Orlando store amid nationwide closures

Developers are planning new discount retail space in South Orlando, even as the brand it is being built for is shuttering stores elsewhere.

Engineer Jeremy Anderson of Common Oak Engineering submitted an application to Orange County for a 10,640-square-foot commercial development off East Wetherbeee Road near South Orange Avenue on behalf of the landowner, global real estate firm Prologis.

Anderson declined to offer any comment on the project. Executives from Prologis were not immediately available for comment.
