Disney’s Star Wars hotel to become Imagineering offices

ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, which closed its doors to guests last September and was estimated to cost $1 billion to develop, will be converted into office space for Walt Disney Imagineering.

A Disney spokesperson confirmed the plans, validating an earlier report by TheWrap. The spokesperson also indicated Disney Imagineers were informed of the decision in October.

The move ends speculation of the hotel’s possible return as a guest experience.
