MIRAMAR, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis gave an update on illegal immigration enforcement in Florida on Thursday.
DeSantis announced that law enforcement’s immigration operation, “Operation Tidal Wave,” had led to approximately 1,120 arrests last week in Florida.
The governor spoke from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility located in Miramar.

Officials said the immigration apprehensions occurred between April 21 and April 16.
Officials stated that 63% of those arrests were “criminal aliens.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Deputy Director Madison Sheahan, State Board of Immigration Enforcement Executive Director Larry Keefe, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chief Patrol Agent Jeffrey Dinise attended the event with the governor.
