WINTER PARK, Fla. — Crews responded Wednesday morning after a truck crashed into a lake in Winter Park.

The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on the east side of Lake Maitland.
Winter Park police discovered the driver who crashed into the water was still inside of the vehicle.

Crews worked together to rescue the driver from the sinking vehicle.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital.

Fire rescue officials said they train several times a year for exact scenarios like this.

When Channel 9 arrived, a black pickup truck was seen being removed from the water.
