Frigid temps to come after cold fronts push through Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will be cold and wet on Thursday.

After a frigid start to the morning, cloudy skies and scattered rain will keep things cold.

Scattered showers will continue to develop on Thursday, but a washout is not expected.

Clouds will remain with highs Thursday afternoon in the low 50s.

The rain quickly exits Thursday evening, with clearing skies overnight.

This will allow temps to tumble, with morning lows in the upper 30s.

Some frost may be possible in areas northwest of Orlando.

Dry conditions will return on Friday, but it will remain chilly.

The temperatures to close out the week will be in the mid-50s.

Our coldest night of the Arctic blast will likely be Friday night. Widespread frost is possible north of Orlando, and freezing conditions are expected in much of Sumter, northern Lake, and Marion counties.

The weekend will feature a significant warming trend.

We’ll see plenty of sun on Saturday, with highs in the low 60s.

Temps push into the low 70s on Sunday.

Quiet weather is expected to start next week as the warmth builds across the region.

Temps for much of next week will be in the low to mid-70s with dry conditions.
