COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Two Brevard Public Schools employees, including a principal and a teacher from Roosevelt Elementary School, have been arrested following a house party involving underage drinking at the principal’s home.

The Cocoa Beach Police Department responded to the house on Jan. 19 after reports of a large party.
When officers arrived, they found over 100 juveniles at the house, many wearing matching T-shirts and consuming alcohol.

Coolers containing alcohol were accessible to attendees, police said.
According to police, the homeowner was identified as Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, principal of Roosevelt Elementary.
During the investigation, police located a heavily intoxicated juvenile on the front lawn who required medical attention.

Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) treated the individual, using vehicle lighting after Hill-Brodigan turned off the outside lights of her residence.
Officers observed her retreat into the home during the incident.
Additionally, a juvenile driver stopped near the scene was arrested for driving under the influence.
An intoxicated adult female later identified as Karly Anderson, a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary, approached officers at the scene and admitted to attending the party.

Detectives interviewed numerous juveniles and parents in the days after the party, resulting in arrests warrants being issued.
Hill-Brodigan faces charges of child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and holding an “open house party.”

In a statement, Brevard Public Schools confirmed both employees have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
“We are extremely troubled by these accusations and are fully cooperating with the Cocoa Beach Police Department,” the district said. “Our commitment to student safety remains our top priority.”
