BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Millions of dollars are on the way to Brevard County to make railroad crossings safer.

It comes as serious violent train collisions.
Channel 9 was invited this week to see how the funding will be used to make residents safer.

It’s been a year since two deadly crashes involving Brightline trains in Brevard County.
Investigators found the drivers went around downed, crossing arms.

Officials said six train crossings in the county will soon be made safer.
The Federal Railroad Administration awarded the agency $4.9 million through the Railroad Crossing Elimination grant program.
