SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. — South Daytona police say an incident at a local motel prompted a large police response and aggravated battery investigation.
Police say a man called them to the Red Carpet Inn at 1855 South Ridgewood Ave. Friday morning. According to the police, the man said his fiancée walked into the room and collapsed in a pool of blood.
The 70-year-old woman was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in critical condition.
Police say a person of interest has been identified, and there is no danger to the public.
