AdventHealth buys 200 acres in Polk County

One of the region’s most active health systems has purchased over 200 acres in Lakeland where it plans to build a full-service hospital.

AdventHealth, based in Altamonte Springs, paid $14 million for an assemblage of 218 acres in the vicinity of 3838 Harden Blvd. in South Lakeland, according to Polk County property records. The land sale closed on Nov. 25.

On that property, the health system has proposed building a hospital with up to 400 beds as well as an “offsite emergency department, a medical office building and designated areas for future residential and commercial development,” a spokesperson for AdventHealth told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
